Organizing the project to allow students with little or no 3D building experience to create substantial 3D worlds is no small feat. Building components and textures are inventoried for easy reuse.

Team pages let potential contributors and visitors get an idea of how it was put together. Each building has a fairly detailed blueprint and links to photographs of the actual sites.

Students, staff and faculty are all involved. Credits go to:

Technically the worlds are all ActiveWorlds environment, which brings up another aspect: these are all multiuser worlds. By the way you can get to the site inside ActiveWorlds at the V-UCSC world. In fact I visited some of the construction and was taken on a virtual tour by Bonnie DeVarco the project Director. Bonnie took me through a whirlwind tour of a few of the ActiveWorlds environments.
